Jordan intercepts missile launched from Iran as authorities report debris incidents but no injuries.
The Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army announced on Thursday that a missile launched from Iran toward the kingdom was intercepted and destroyed within the past 24 hours.
In a statement, the military’s media directorate said the Royal Jordanian Air Force successfully intercepted the missile, which had been heading toward a location inside the country, and neutralized it efficiently.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said security units responded to four reports over the same period involving falling shrapnel and projectiles.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported as a result of the incidents, though some material damage occurred.
The spokesperson renewed warnings to the public not to gather near, approach, or tamper with any suspicious objects or debris due to the potential danger. Residents were urged to follow official safety instructions issued by authorities.
Citizens were also asked to report any suspicious objects to security services through the emergency number 911, while relying only on information released by official sources and avoiding the spread of rumors or misleading news.
