The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said Saturday, that an individual was arrested after he uploaded video clip on social media which displayed footage of Friday lockdown violations in Al-Masharea area, Irbid.

The spokeperson confirmed that through investigations, the person responsible for uploading the vdieo was identified and arrested.

However, after interrogations, the individual admitted that it was old footage which was filmed about a year ago. He republished it to delude others into thinking it took place on Friday.

The PSD stated that the individual will be referred to the judiciary to take legal actions against him.

On Feb. 24, the government announced the reimposition of Friday lockdowns in Jordan, in addition to new curfew hours, in an effort to halt the sudden jump in coronavirus numbers.
