Monday, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply issued 264 official warnings for food pricing violations.

This comes despite the fact that the ministry issued a list of fixed prices at the beginning of the holy month, including the prices of chicken products, after they received complaints about an unjustified increase in prices.

Penalties were imposed on shop owners who did not adhere to the fixed prices and committed violations.

In a statement, the ministry noted that its teams conducted around 300 field visits since the beginning of Ramadan, in which approximately 4,700 establishments were inspected.

The ministry stressed that the inspections are ongoing throughout the day and night.

It also called on citizens to contact the ministry to submit any comments or complaints by calling any of the following numbers.

  • Amman: 065661176
  • Ma'an: 032131068
  • Mafraq: 026232368

This came as part of the ministry's efforts to put an end to food pricing violations and manipulation.
