Saturday, during a joint press conference with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi made several remarks on the state of Jordanian and Arab affairs.

He started by noting that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the largest trading partner for Jordan regionally and internationally, noting that the Saudi Investment Fund is one of the largest investors in Jordan.

He also indicated that Jordan is working to develop its relationship with the Gulf Cooperation Council on security, politics and economics.

He stressed Jordan's rejection of foreign interference in the Arab region, regardless of its source, while stressing Jordan and Saudi Arabia's adherence to the state of Palestine according to the 1967 borders.

Safadi reiterated Jordan's commitment to its principles regarding the Palestinian cause, and that peace is an Arab strategic choice, and achieving it is subject to Arab consensus.

He pointed out that Jordan looks forward to working with the new US administration and the international community to achieve a just and comprehensive peace acceptable to the peoples and achieve real security and stability in the region.

Safadi appreciated the continuous support and the historical fraternal positions of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to help Jordan face economic challenges, pointing out that "half a million Jordanians reside and work in Saudi Arabia."
