Palestine records 19 deaths and 1,595 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine recorded 19 deaths and new 1,595 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaileh Tuesday.

The new deaths involved 13 in the West Bank, and six in Gaza Strip. The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 76.6 percent, while the active case rate is 22.6 percent and the death rate is 0.8 percent.

The new coronavirus cases include 310 in Hebron; 127 in Jenin; 263 in Nablus; 90 in Tulkarem; 202 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 39 in Salfit; 46 in Qalqilya; 26 in Tubas; 141 in Bethlehem; 14 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 93 in the suburbs of Jerusalem;  and 244 in Jerusalem city.

The recovery cases include 119 in Hebron; 146 in Jenin; 60 in Tulkarem; 152 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 20 in Salfit; 99 in Tubas; 37 in Qalqilya; 21 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 228 in Jerusalem city and 550 in Gaza Strip.

Currently, 85 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 25 are on ventilators.

Tuesday, a total of 5,171 PCR tests have been conducted.
