The son of the previous spokesperson for the Hamas’ military wing Abu Obaida, shared a rare message describing his late father’s condition and resilience during ‘Israel’s’ ongoing war on the Gaza Strip.
Hudhaifa Al-Kahlout’s son, Ibrahim, posted a photo, showing what he says is father after he lost over 30 kilograms due to the dire humanitarian conditions in the Strip at the time.
“He was not worn down by prison, but by the war and the hunger he chose to live through with his people, not above them,” he wrote.
According to the post, Abu Obaida lost more than 30 kilograms of body weight but maintained his “dignity and steadfastness.”
“He ate what his people ate and remained patient as they did,” his son added, accusing media outlets of spreading falsehoods and targeting his father’s reputation.

Hudhaifa Al-Kahlout served as Hamas’ military spokesperson until an ‘Israeli’ airstrike on Gaza City killed him in August 2025.
The nom de guerre has since passed to another spokesman, whose identity is unknown.
