Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, Minister of Health, Saad Jaber and Minister of Higher Education, Mohieddin Touq, held a press briefing at the Prime Ministry on Wednesday.

Rumours about a three-week total lockdown are false, Adaileh said.

In addition, it is very hard to return to total lockdowns in Jordan, Adaileh added.

People who violate defence orders will be held accountable, Adaileh added.

Random inspection tours will be conducted on government institutions to ensure that they adhere to health and safety measures, Adaileh said.

The start of the first official day for public universities has been postponed until October, 11, Touq said.

University classes will involve both distance and on-campus learning, Touq added.

A total of 363 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Jordan on Wednesday, 354 of which are local cases, Jaber said.

Two new COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Jordan. The number of coronavirus deaths in Jordan now totals 35.

In addition, 98 recovery cases have been recorded in Jordan on Wednesday, Jaber added.
