  • Jordan confirms foreign troops are present only under cooperative agreements, not independent bases.
  • No aircraft from Jordan have participated in current regional war.
  • Jordan intercepts attacks, protects sovereignty, and emphasizes national unity.

Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi confirmed that the kingdom hosts no foreign military bases, stressing that foreign forces operate solely under cooperative defense agreements with allied nations.

Safadi clarified that while foreign troops are present in Jordan, including for training and joint programs, “there are no independent bases controlled by other countries,” and all military activity requires Jordanian approval.

Clarifying foreign presence

Member of Jordan’s Senate Hussein Hazzah Al-Majali reinforced this position, stating on the program Nabd Al-Balad that the country hosts foreign aircraft and personnel from the United States, France, Germany, and Belgium. He emphasized that these forces operate only on Jordanian bases under the joint defense agreement and have not participated in any strikes related to the current war. “We have nothing to hide,” Al-Majali said.

Defense and threats

Jordan continues to assert its right to self-defense. Approximately 240 missiles and drones launched toward the kingdom were intercepted by the Royal Jordanian Air Force, with no attacks affecting regions outside Jordan.

Al-Majali also stressed that Israel and Iran remain regional threats, with external powers sometimes exploiting vulnerabilities. He warned against using Jordanian territory for offensive operations and reassured citizens of the state’s ability to protect the nation.

Unity and sovereignty

Both Safadi and Al-Majali emphasized Jordanian sovereignty and national unity. Citizens were urged to support the monarchy and government in safeguarding the country. “Jordan is strong, and His Majesty King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein manage security with precision, professionalism, and ethics,” Al-Majali said, calling for public alignment with national interests.

Jordan continues to host the Iranian embassy with limited personnel, while enforcing strict diplomatic controls. The government maintains open communication with neighboring states to prevent incursions and manage regional tensions.

Jordan’s dual approach focuses on defending national security while promoting regional stability through political and diplomatic channels.
