A car owner has been fined for installing a TV screen in his vehicle, according to the Central Traffic Department at the Public Security Directorate.

Legal action has been taken against the driver for violating official traffic laws.

The Traffic Department's efforts to detect traffic violations are ongoing, the most prominent of which are drifting, speeding, invalid driver's licences, other technical breaches and adding car parts that threaten people's safety.

Over the past 24 hours, the Traffic Department dealt with 338 car accidents, 221 of which have been recorded in Amman and resulted in 20 injuries.

The other 117 accidents have been recorded in other governments and resulted in six injuries.

A total of 306 violations have been recorded for running a red light, nine for reckless driving, 107 for tampering or concealing licence plates, and 810 for using mobile phones while driving.

Three drivers have been caught for driving without a valid driving licence and a driver has been fined for driving 167 km/hour in Al Ghbawi area in Amman.
