Lebanon’s Ambassador to Jordan, Tracy Chamoun, announced her resignation on MTV, in protest of the Lebanese government’s negligence, on Thursday.

"They all need to go. The most important people should take responsibility and those are the ones who must be held accountable," said Chamoun.

"All those who ruled Lebanon after the war are mentally ill and, based on the new election law, elections are now required."

Referring to the Lebanese President, Michel Aoun, she said: "My father, Danny Chamoun, stood by his side in the past and my appointment in Jordan was not just because of him, but because of His Majesty King Abdullah, who is friends with my Grandfather and their relationship goes way back."

The Lebanese ambassador arrived in Beirut at the same time as the Jordanian Military Field Hospital on Thursday.

Chamoun thanked the Jordanian government and people for their continuous support to Lebanon.

This is the second resignation following the Beirut port blast, which came after the resignation of the MP, Marwan Hamadeh.

The Lebanese Foreign Minister, Nassif Hitti, also resigned, but one day before the blast, on Monday.
