A report by Global Risk Profile, a company specializing in research and investigations on the global corruption index, indicated that Jordan ranked 56th out of 196 countries assessed in the current year 2023.

The report outlined that the index measurement mechanism relies on four indicators to assess corruption:

  • Ratification of major agreements, accounting for 15 percent and sourced from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the United Nations
  • Perceived overall corruption level, accounting for 25.5 percent, sourced from Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index, World Bank data and Global Justice Project data
  • Corruption experience in the public and private sectors, accounting for 17 percent, sourced from Transparency International's Global Corruption Barometer, the World Bank's Enterprise Surveys
  • A selected set of country characteristics closely related to corruption, accounting for 42.5 percent.

The report explained that the index results are based on 11 sources for all data, including the United Nations, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the World Bank, the Financial Action Task Force, Transparency International, the Global Initiative, the Global Justice Project, the Basel Institute on Governance's Economic Intelligence Unit, the International Budget Partnership, and the World Economic Forum, according to the Jordanian news agency Petra.
