Two buildings in Irbid isolated after bank employees test positive for COVID-19

A joint force of the gendarmerie and Public Security Directorate (PSD) isolated today two buildings, east of the Irbid, after two bank employees in the area tested positive for the COVID-19 yesterday.

Director of the Irbid Health Affairs Department Qasim Mayas said that the epidemiological inspection teams have collected more than 100 samples of contacts with the infected employees, including bank their colleagues at work, customers, families and neighbors, pointing out that more samples will be collected today.

Mayas also stated that the bank was closed for 72 hours for sterilization, adding that it will resume work with new staff members.

The bank management said it may bring on employees from other branches if necessary to continue providing services to clients after ensuring safe health and epidemiological situation at the bank.

An official source of the epidemiology committee and epidemiological inspection teams in the northern governorate said that it's still not clear how the employees contracted the virus.
