The government will impose a 24-hour comprehensive curfew this Friday, the Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, announced today.

During a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, Adaileh explained that the curfew will be imposed from Friday at 12:00 am until Saturday at 12:00 am.

He added that His Majesty King Abdullah II chaired today a meeting of the National Policy Council, in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein, to discuss the latest developments on dealing with the corona epidemic.

Adaileh denied reports which indicated that some returnees were not quarantined, confirming that all returnees will be quarantined for 17 days in the designated sites in the Dead Sea.

"The government has not yet taken a decision regarding the measures that will be put in place during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday," Adaileh stated, expecting that there will be strict measures during the holiday.

Adaileh added, "the battle with the epidemic is still ongoing and all precautions and preventive measures must be taken and there should be no gatherings or visits during the Eid holiday."

"Flights for the second batch of returnees and students will begin before mid-May and offices of the Royal Jordanian (RJ) will be opened in Irbid, Karak, Zarqa and Aqaba," the Minister stated.
