The government has decided to amend the hours during which people are allowed to move and get their basic needs amid the curfew imposed in the Kingdom, the Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, announced.

"Citizens can go out to get their needs during Ramadan from 8 am to 6 pm," Adaileh said during a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management.

Adaileh added that it was decided to end the isolation of several areas in Irbid governorate, starting Thursday, April 23, confirming that Irbid will remain isolated from all the other governorates of the Kingdom.

"With regard to the governorates in which the curfew measures were eased and according to the initial evaluation, we have noticed great commitment by citizens in the Aqaba governorate during the past days and we affirm the necessity of maintaining this positive situation during the next stage, given its importance in protecting the health and safety of citizens," the Minister stated.

He added, "We noticed a disparity in citizens' commitment in the governorates of Karak, Ma'an and Tafilah."

"The number of tourist and popular restaurants that have completed the procedures required for providing home-delivery services has reached about 2,000 and they are now subject to prior supervision by the competent authorities to give workers the necessary permits," Adaileh stressed.

During Ramadan, the Ministry of Health will continue to announce the number of infections if there are any and the state of the epidemiological situation in general, through a written daily media statement published for public opinion and the media, the Minister said.

Press briefings will be held after cabinet sessions, in case any developments require clarification, and their dates will be announced in advance.

"Today, His Majesty King Abdullah II has headed a meeting of the National Policy Council in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein, during which His Majesty affirmed the necessity of intensifying preventive efforts and expanding COVID-19 tests.
