60 people test negative for COVID-19 in Irbid

The Head of the Epidemiological Monitoring Department and head of the epidemiological inspection teams in the Irbid governorate, Dr. Ali Zetawi, has announced that no new COVID-19 infections have been recorded in the governorate until this afternoon.

In a press statement, Zetawi said the results of 60 samples all returned back negative today, adding the epidemiological inspection teams are intensifying their campaigns to collect more selected samples.

Earlier today, the Director of King Abdullah University Hospital in Irbid, Mohammad Al-Ghazou, said that two COVID-19 patients have recovered and will be discharged from hospital. 

Ghazou added that the two cases will move to a 14-day home quarantine in accordance with standard health procedures for the virus.

He said the number of cases who remained at the isolation ward has dropped to 15, describing their condition as stable.
