The official overseeing the coronavirus crisis in the northern governorates, Wael Hayajneh, has confirmed today that no new coronavirus cases reported in Irbid governorate since yesterday morning.

Speaking exclusively to Roya, Hayajneh stressed that all teams of the National Committee for Epidemics are working on conducting COVID-19 tests for people in Irbid, including Ramtha and Kuraymah town.

"The Committee is still awaiting the final results of samples taken from people in Kuraymah who had direct contact with the infected vegetable trader," he said.

He revealed that the Committee has started to conduct random tests in areas with no confirmed cases.

"The random examination is useful for making sure that the governorate is free of the virus, as the epidemiological investigation teams will reach out to gas cylinders distributors, pharmacy workers and others," Hayajneh noted.
