Jordan is panicking after the Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, announced the first coronavirus case in Jordan during a press conference today.

Minister Jaber explained that the infected arrived in Jordan on Saturday, February 15, on board a plane with 100 passengers.

The infected is a citizen in his thirties, the Minister said, adding that he went to work and had direct contact with his family members, people at the workplace and a friend of his for the past two weeks.

"The patient's family members and friend have been immediately quarantined", the Minister stated.

He added that one infected person may spread the disease to ten people.

A source told Roya that the infected citizen works at a shopping center in Amman.

The Ministry makes every effort to quarantine everyone who the patient had direct contact with, the Minister underscored.
