  • The minister reaffirmed that extremism has no relation to the teachings of Islam.

Jordan’s Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Mohammed Al-Khalayleh, said the country would remain a model of Muslim-Christian coexistence, stressing the importance of national unity and rejecting extremist ideologies.

Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Al-Khalayleh said Muslims and Christians in Jordan are united by bonds of solidarity and a shared commitment to protecting the country.

He stressed that safeguarding Jordan’s security, stability and national unity was a collective responsibility shared by all Jordanians, warning against allowing extremist ideas to undermine the country’s social fabric.

Al-Khalayleh also said extremist groups had no connection to the true teachings of Islam, which he described as being founded on the protection of human life and dignity, as well as compassion, tolerance and justice.

He described security and stability as major blessings that must be preserved, attributing them to the sacrifices of the Jordanian Armed Forces and security services, alongside the leadership of the Hashemite monarchy.

The minister also highlighted the educational and guidance role of mosques in nurturing a generation committed to religious values and promoting compassion and social solidarity across all segments of society.
