First coronavirus case in Jordan confirmed

The first coronavirus case in Jordan has been confirmed today.

During a press conference held today, the Health Minister, Saad Jaber confirmed that the infected is a Jordanian citizen who arrived from Italy two weeks ago.

The patient has been transferred to the Isolation Department at Prince Hamza Hospital.

The Health Minister said that the patient's family and a friend of him have been quarantined and will undergo medical examinations as he contacted him directly. 

He added that there's another person suspected of having the virus. 

Schools and universities will be out if the number of cases exceeds 20.
