The Rotary Club of Amman Capital announced the initiation of the application process for the "Amali" project by starting its campaign in the beginning of this month January 2020 on Ro’ya TV, other social media channels and on the official website of the project. Our colleague, Ms. Rasha Odeh, the founder of the project, explained that if she regrets something in her entrepreneurial life, it is that she did not introduce mentors into her professional life since its inception, because of her lack of knowledge of the mentorship concept then, and so from here came the idea of this project.

The "Amali" project received a grant from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), with its headquarters in Germany. It is noteworthy that Ms. Rasha Oudeh applied for the grant for the Rotary Club of Amman Capital to finance the project through a local association in Germany. This center supports immigrants in Germany to expand and return experiences to their countries.

She explained that the "Amali" project aims to establish a network of business mentors to develop 10 Jordanian women who have small projects/businesses in various fields in order to benefit from the experiences of the mentors who will be linked with them, and the project includes short training workshops in April 2020 aimed at determining the level of applicants and unifying some skills they have, and the training will be supervised by our colleague Mrs. Nabila Morcos, and four other trainers from Germany will be present.

For her part, our colleague Mrs. Mai Omaish mentioned a certain criterion that must be met by the applicants as mentioned below:

  • Applicants should have an existing small-scale entrepreneurial project/business.
  • Applicants should be aged between 25-35 years.
  • Applicants should speak and understand the English language in order to benefit from the experiences of the German trainers.

Mrs. Omaish indicated that those chosen will receive a series of lectures and will participate in academic workshops presented by German and Jordanian experts in this field, after that, mentors are linked with the selected women. This project will make other girls benefit from these selected candidates, which creates a successful business environment led by inspiring women.
