Dos: Jordan's trade balance deficit shrinks by 13% in the first nine months of 2019

Jordan's trade balance deficit has decreased by 13.4% during the first nine months of 2019, compared to the same period last year due to the decrease in the volume of national imports by 5.3% and the increase in Jordan's exports by 8.1%, according to figures published by the Department of Statistics (DoS).

Statistics showed that the total volume of Jordan's exports amounted to JD 4,400,000,000 billion, while Jordan's total imports reached JD10,100,000,000 billion during the first nine months of this year, thus a deficit of JD5,700,000,000 billion was recorded.

However, Jordan's national exports increased by 7.8% by the end of the third quarter of this year to reach JD3,700,000,000, with an increase in exports of chemical products by 73.1%, potash by 14.4%, clothing by 11%, fertilizers 9.1%, while phosphate decreased by 2.4%.
