A joint security force of the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) and the West Balqa police station raided a number of drug dealers in south Shouneh on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.
Security forces were able to arrest eight of them and seized large amounts of narcotics and a firearm that were with them.
Spokesman for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said that a report was received by the members of the AND about a number of drug dealers in possession of large quantities of marijuana in south Shouna area, west of Balqa, which called on the security forces to raid them.
The spokesman added that during the first raid, security forces arrested five dealers, including one wanted on 10 charges and another one wanted on five charges.
Security forces were able to seize 500 marijuana seedlings and other quantities of drugs for sale.
However, in the other raid, three dealers were arrested and about 1000 marijuana seedlings and a firearm were seized with them, the spokesman stated, adding that investigations were launched.
