In August, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) handled 636 cases involving drug trafficking and promotion, resulting in the arrest of 1,094 individuals.
Some of those who were arrested were classified as dangerous, according to the PSD's media spokesperson.
During these operations, a significant quantity of narcotic substances was seized, including 224 kilograms of hashish, 500,000 Captagon pills, 4,000 other narcotic pills, 7.4 kilograms of crystal meth and 13 kilograms of marijuana.
Additionally, two kilograms of synthetic cannabis, 600 grams of synthetic cannabis powder and a number of firearms were also confiscated.
The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) conducted a total of 925 awareness-raising initiatives in August. These efforts encompassed various courses for officers and a series of lectures, workshops and seminars.
The media spokesperson emphasized the AND's ongoing commitment to conduct these operations and security campaigns across all regions of the Kingdom.
The authorities remain unwavering in their pursuit of individuals involved in narcotic activities.
