The Board of Commissioners of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) decided on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, to exempt Jordanians from entry fees to the ancient city of Petra during the Eid Al Fitr holiday.

Chairman of the Board, Suleiman Farajat said the decision was taken in order to encourage domestic tourism in the city so that citizens can enjoy the stunning stone monuments of Petra.

Farajat added that the exemption from ticket fees includes access to the city, use of tourist and health facilities for free, visiting the new Petra Museum and watching the folklore and artistic performances offered by the PDTRA during the Eid holiday.

Entrance to the city during the Eid holiday will be from 6 am to 6 pm, while access to the Petra Museum will be from 8:30 am to 10:00 pm.

All hotels and restaurants in the city will be making promotional offers during the Eid holiday.
