For the first time in its history, the rose city of Petra witnessed an unprecedented rise in the number of tourists visiting it compared to previous years.

Chief Commissioner of Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, Suleiman Farajat said that the highest number of visitors to Petra was witnessed in April 2019, with a total of 138,110 visitors, including 119,078 foreign tourists and with an increase of 38% over the number of foreigners during the same period in 2018.
