Prime Minister Omar Razzaz said during a speech before the Supreme Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on Monday that the government has taken upon itself to develop laws governing the rights of persons with disabilities.

Razzaz said during the launch of the "National Plan for Correcting the Status of Existing Buildings and Public Utilities 2019-2020", that what we witness today by the state institutions indicates progress in this area, but what has been achieved is not enough, calling for more work, for persons with disabilities.

The Prime Minister pointed out that persons with disabilities among Jordanians is approximately 11%, adding that the road ahead is still long, especially in the field of diagnosis.

"We should not waste the opportunity on giving people with disabilities the chance to innovate," he said. "We have a long way to go and I am committed to all ministries and government departments to implement this initiative."
