A delegation of the Presidents Council of the Council of Churches represented by Bishop William Shomali and a number of deputies, delivered a memorandum of forgiveness, love and brotherly outreach to Amman’s Attorney General, Judge Ahmed Afif, in hopes to release Mohammad Al Wakeel and the news editor Ghadeer Rbehat on bail, who were arrested for publishing a Jesus cartoon that was deemed offensive by Christians and Muslims alike in Jordan.

Bishop Shomali told Roya that “as the Christmas approaches, we should live in an atmosphere of love and brotherhood.”

Bishop Shomali appealed to all Jordanians on social networking sites to spread noble values and good citizenship, and steer away from hate speeches and aggression.
