Two earth-like planets have been discovered in outer space, according to an official source at NASA.

In April 2018, NASA launched the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) to detect Earth-like planets, or exoplanets, in a two-year mission.

The satellite has recently discovered a “super-Earth” and a “hot Earth” about 50 light years away, according to NASA.

Deputy Science Director Sara Seager told Reuters that both planets are too hot to support life.

“We will have to wait and see what else TESS discovers. We do know that planets are out there, littering the night sky, just waiting to be found,” Seager added.
