Starting now, you can eat locally-grown mangoes.

A recent experiment by the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) successfully produced mangoes on Jordanian soil.

Scientists grew the mangoes in the Jordan Valley and Wadi Arabah, proving that it is feasible for them to grow in Jordan's current climate.

The Centre grew the exotic fruit on Jordanian soil using modified conditions and it is currently selling them in the local market.

Dr. Nizar Haddad, General Director of the Centre, said that they will be sharing the technology used to grow the mangoes with Jordanian farmers, in order to guarantee a successful harvest for them in the future.
