A senior Jordanian official serving with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) sustained injuries while performing field duties in the southern Syrian city of Suwayda, the agency confirmed.

Yousef Taha, the official spokesperson for UNHCR in Jordan, stated in remarks to Roya News that Ali Bibi, who serves as the head of UNHCR's Suwayda office and coordinator for the southern region, was injured on Thursday evening during the course of his official work.

Following the incident, Bibi received urgent first aid at a local hospital in Suwayda. Arrangements were subsequently made to transport him across the border to Jordan for further specialized medical attention.
