Man impersonating Zarqa Mayor collects donations for 'funeral'

The Mayor of Zarqa, Ali Abu Al Sukkar, was astonished to learn that a non-law-abiding citizen had impersonated him to collect donations under his name.

Abu Al Sukkar filed a police report and an investigation has been opened into the man impersonating him, who collected money for “the funeral of a Zarqa Municipality employee.”

In a press statement, Abu Al Sukkar stressed the importance of not collaborating with individuals who ask for money, especially that he has never asked for donations, as that goes against his professional and personal beliefs, and the law.

Abu Al Sukkar further urged businessmen and merchants to report anyone to the authorities who tries to collect money by impersonating an official.
