Arab national arrested for fatal stabbing in northern Jordan

A man was arrested on Monday evening in connection with the fatal stabbing of another man inside an apartment in Zarqa Governorate, according to a statement from the Public Security Directorate (PSD).

The PSD spokesperson said police were alerted to the incident on Sunday, prompting officers to rush to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim’s body bearing multiple stab wounds, confirming the case as a homicide.

A joint investigation team from the Zarqa Police Department and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was immediately formed. Within hours, they identified a suspect of Arab nationality, who had reportedly gone into hiding following the crime.

Investigators tracked the suspect’s movements, ultimately locating him and conducting a raid to apprehend him. Authorities said the man was found in possession of the sharp object used in the attack, along with personal items belonging to the victim.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the killing, citing a sudden dispute between him and the victim. He has since been referred to the Public Prosecutor at the Grand Criminal Court.
