Dispute turns fatal: Man dies after shooting in Zarqa

A young man died Friday evening from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, two days after he was shot during an altercation in the Halabat area of Zarqa governorate in Jordan, a statement by the authorities said.

Police received a report last Wednesday about a dispute between the victim and four other individuals. The dispute escalated to gunfire, critically injuring the man in the abdomen.

The injured man was immediately taken to Zarqa Government Hospital for treatment, but his condition remained critical. He was pronounced dead Friday evening.

Investigation and Arrests

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) said that authorities promptly launched an investigation and search operation after receiving the report. This quickly led to the identification of the four individuals involved in the incident.

In a swift security operation, all suspects were apprehended Thursday, less than 24 hours after the shooting. The firearm used in the incident was also seized.
