Iraqi media reported on Thursday that a headquarters belonging to an Iranian opposition group in Erbil, the capital of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, was targeted by two drones, causing material damage but no casualties.

A representative of the group said the attack damaged the headquarters and surrounding area, adding that the site had been evacuated beforehand, preventing casualties. The party responsible for the attack remains unclear.

The incident comes after the announced deadline for the international coalition’s mission in Iraq expired on Sep. 30, amid security arrangements to reorganize military responsibilities and strengthen Iraqi forces’ control over the country’s territory and airspace.
