The US Army has scheduled Nidal Hasan’s execution for December 3, nearly 17 years after the 2009 Fort Hood attack. Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, was convicted of killing 13 people and injuring 32 others. He was sentenced to death in 2013, but his execution was delayed for more than a decade. President Donald Trump has now approved the execution. The Army says it will take place by firing squad at Fort Hood, the same base where the attack happened. If carried out, it would be the first US military execution since 1961.
