Relief operations following Nepal’s devastating floods are among the most challenging disasters faced by the World Food Programme, according to its country chief.

Cargo drones and helicopters are being used to deliver aid to affected communities. The August 26 surge of water, mud and debris, triggered by a glacial mountain collapse near the China-Nepal border, killed at least 1,446 people and left more than 6,500 missing across Nepal and China, according to the WFP.
