- Iran says it is preparing a new bank of enemy targets and assets across a wider geographical area.
- The armed forces reaffirmed their commitment to carrying out Mojtaba Khamenei's orders.
Iran's armed forces have warned Saturday that any renewed attack on the country would trigger a response more severe than the previous conflict, threatening to expand their list of enemy targets and assets across a wider geographical area.
In a statement carried by the state-affiliated Fars News Agency, Major General Abdollahi, identified as the Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, said the military had prepared a new set of targets and was ready to confront the United States and ‘Israel’ with what he described as an "unimaginable response."
Abdollahi said Iran's armed forces would resist any aggression "at any level and in any form," adding that their preparations would continue to expand through the use of modern equipment and advanced technologies.
He warned that any renewed aggression against Iran would prompt a response "more severe and effective" than what he called the "Third Imposed War."
"The enemies should know that it is we who will determine the end of the war," he said, according to Fars.
He further said the armed forces would operate without geographical limitations, suggesting that any future confrontation could extend beyond the areas targeted during the previous conflict.
The statement also reaffirmed the military's commitment to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, saying the armed forces would carry out his directives and defend Iran's sovereignty and population.
The remarks come amid renewed tensions between Tehran and Washington, with Iranian officials warning that any further US-’Israeli’ military action would trigger retaliation extending beyond Iran's borders.
The Financial Times reported on Saturday that Mojtaba Khamenei had called for expanding Iran's target database to include US and ‘Israeli’ financial and other assets, while warning that any renewed attack would be met with an immediate response without geographical restrictions.
Ali Abdollahi was appointed chief of the General Staff of Iran's Armed Forces in August 2026, according to the Iranian state news agency IRNA.
