  • Khamenei ordered the national targeting database to be updated to place tangible and intangible US and 'Israeli' assets within operational range
  • He stated that if adversaries launch military or terrorist operations, Iran's armed forces and public will dictate the terms and timing of their conclusion

Iran's Supreme Leader and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, has issued a directive ordering military leaders to respond to any "hostile threat" immediately, effectively, and without geographic limitations, Iranian state media reported.

Speaking during a high-level briefing with senior military commanders, Khamenei outlined "smart combat readiness" as an essential prerequisite for "maximum deterrence." Addressing potential conflict escalation, the supreme leader cautioned that should foreign adversaries initiate military strikes or "terrorist actions," it is Iran's military and public that will determine how and when those hostilities conclude.

Khamenei ordered defense planners to update Iran’s military target database to ensure that various material and non-material assets belonging to the United States and 'Israel' remain within range of Iranian firepower.

He further instructed officials to bolster military intelligence infrastructure, modernize indigenous doctrine and tactical frameworks, incorporate advanced technologies into defense hardware, and maintain uninterrupted logistical and welfare support for service personnel.

Characterizing public domestic backing as a cornerstone of national deterrence against external adversaries, Khamenei praised regional allied networks across the "Axis of Resistance." He described the "unity of arenas" doctrine as a pivotal variable reshaping the political and security architecture across West Asia toward broader Islamic multilateral coordination.

During the session, top defense leadership presented operational updates to the supreme leader. Major General Abdollahi, Chairman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces; Major General Hatami, Commander-in-Chief of the Army; and Major General Vahidi, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), delivered assessments regarding troop readiness along the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, the Sea of Oman, and northwestern and southeastern border frontiers. The military chiefs also reported substantial production increases across domestic reconnaissance, support, and combat munitions.

Khamenei concluded the meeting by expressing satisfaction with current defense preparations, extending commendations across the military branches, police forces, Basij, and defense ministry personnel.
