- Houthi-affiliated media publish footage claiming attacks on Saudi troop concentrations and military vehicles.
- The group identifies the drones used as “Rujoum.”
Houthi-affiliated media outlets published footage on Saturday, Oct. 31, purporting to show drone attacks targeting Saudi troop concentrations and military vehicles across several fronts.
The footage was captioned as showing operations carried out using the group's “Rujoum” drones against what it described as “Saudi enemy” forces. The media release did not specify the locations of the alleged strikes or provide details on casualties or the extent of damage.
The release comes amid an escalation in cross-border hostilities between the Houthis and the Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen's internationally recognised government.
On Oct. 30, the Saudi-led coalition said it had intercepted and destroyed a drone launched by the Houthis over the Mecca region. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree denied that the group had conducted an operation against holy sites that day.
Saudi Arabia has also reported repeated missile and drone interceptions in recent days. On Oct. 31, coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki said air defences had intercepted two missiles and three drones targeting different regions of the kingdom.
In a separate report published on Oct. 26, Reuters said Houthi-released footage purported to show drone strikes against Saudi troops and military vehicles in Najran, Jizan and Asir. Reuters said it could not independently verify the footage's exact location or filming date, or establish the affiliation of the targeted troops and vehicles.
