The Houthis denied on Friday conducting any military operations into Saudi territory, refuting Riyadh's assertion that it had intercepted a drone launched toward the holy city of Mecca.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree issued a statement rejecting the allegations.
"The Yemeni Armed Forces confirm that they did not carry out any operation toward the Saudi depth today," Saree claimed, adding that "what the Saudi enemy claims regarding intercepting a drone in the airspace of Mecca is a great falsehood and fabrication."
Saree claimed the group's declared targets across the border, stating: "Our operations target its oil installations and military bases, and there is no longer anyone in this world who believes these fabrications and lies."
The spokesperson's remarks followed an official statement released by Major General Turki Al-Malki, spokesperson for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, who reported the "interception and destruction of a drone in the Mecca region launched by the terrorist Houthi militia."
