  • Eisenkot insisted that uninvestigated claims regarding foreign interference must not be weaponized to subvert voter turnout
  • While commending Netanyahu's condemnation of foreign influence, Eisenkot urged the Shin Bet security service to investigate any Qatari involvement thoroughly

'Israeli' centrist Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot has sharply criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him and his political allies of conducting an "illegitimate influence operation" to sow public chaos and delay the certification of the national election results.

Eisenkot stated that Netanyahu has grown accustomed to "dealing with reality through lies, consciousness engineering, and sowing chaos, is leading, along with his partners, an illegitimate influence operation on the Israeli public," arguing that right-wing factions are now seeking to create fictitious delegitimization around the 26th Knesset.

"The attempt to exploit information (which has not yet been investigated) whose details and scope of suspicions have not yet been clarified in order to undermine the official election results, in which the Israeli public voted against the government of failure, is unacceptable and must be rejected outright," Eisenkot said in a statement.

Addressing recent allegations regarding foreign meddling, Eisenkot remarked that he commends Netanyahu for "finally condemning Qatari involvement in the State of Israel," while stating that foreign interference in domestic affairs remains intolerable under any circumstances.

Eisenkot pointedly noted that illicit funding and foreign meddling represent an acute security threat regardless of where they appear, stating that interference is unacceptable "when it happens in the Prime Minister's Office and grave if it occurs in the election system".

The former military chief of staff called on the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) to initiate an immediate, objective, and exhaustive inquiry into all suspicions. He insisted that an "iron fist" must be applied against any individual or faction found attempting to corrupt the electoral process, while warning against political interference in the timeline of the legislature's formation.

"Every decision pertaining to the elections must be made with utmost reverence and with the understanding that the convening of the 26th Knesset must take place on time," Eisenkot stated, stressing that respecting the voter's will remains a bedrock requirement for 'Israel’s' democratic institutions and national resilience.

Eisenkot's remarks follow calls by right-wing ministers and Netanyahu's Likud party demanding immediate law enforcement action, including the arrest of Arab party leaders, over claims of election fraud and Qatari funding, allegations that oversight bodies and opposition leaders maintain remain unproven.
