A man identifying himself as 'Israeli' harassed and threatened pro-Palestinian student protesters from New York University (NYU) during a demonstration in New York City on October 12.

Footage circulating online showed the individual approaching a group of student demonstrators, verbally abusing and making threatening statements toward them during a rally held as part of a week of action for Palestine.

During the interaction, the man displayed a photograph showing himself in an 'Israeli' military uniform while continuing to confront the students.

When New York Police Department (NYPD) officers stepped in to separate the individual from the gathering, the man refused to comply, yelling at police officers, "Don't touch me, I'm from Israel."

The confrontation took place amid a series of campus demonstrations and student walkouts organized by NYU student groups calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza and demanding the university sever financial ties with 'Israeli' institutions.

Despite the verbal altercation and tension between the individual, protesters, and law enforcement, police officers worked to disperse the confrontation as student organizers continued their planned rally.
