Jordan FM condemns Houthi attack on Riyadh Airport, reaffirms solidarity with Saudi Arabia

Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi held a phone call with his Saudi counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, to discuss the recent Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and ongoing regional developments.

During the call, Safadi expressed Jordan's condemnation of the Houthi attack on the airport as well as continued strikes against civilian and economic infrastructure in the Kingdom. 

He described the actions as a “flagrant violation of international law and a grave attack on Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, security, and stability.”

Safadi offered Jordan’s condolences for the victims of the attack on King Khalid International Airport and wished a speedy recovery to those injured. 

Prince Faisal extended his condolences to Safadi over the death of a Jordanian citizen killed in the assault. Safadi expressed appreciation to Saudi authorities for providing comprehensive medical care and attention to the injured Jordanian nationals.

Safadi emphasized Jordan’s absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia, stating that the Kingdom stands fully behind Saudi Arabia in taking any necessary measures to defend its national security and safeguard its citizens and residents.

The two ministers concluded by discussing broader regional developments as part of the ongoing coordination and consultation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
