Media Advisor to the Syrian Presidency Ahmad Muwaffaq Zaidan rejected media reports claiming that Saudi Arabia requested Syrian military troops to bolster security within the Kingdom or in Yemen, calling the allegations entirely baseless.

In a statement posted publicly, Zaidan addressed ongoing regional rumors regarding potential Syrian military intervention, emphasizing the close alignment between Syrian and Gulf security interests while shutting down claims of ground troop involvement.

"The security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the security of the Gulf is integral to Syria's security," Zaidan stated. "We in Damascus stand with our people in the Land of the Two Holy Mosques with all strength and firmness. However, what some media outlets are circulating regarding the Kingdom requesting the deployment of Syrian forces to Saudi Arabia or Yemen is false and completely untrue."

Damascus stresses solidarity with Riyadh

Zaidan's remarks follow speculative reporting concerning potential regional security arrangements as conflicts involving Houthi forces in Yemen continue to impact regional dynamics.

Closing his statement, the presidential advisor offered prayers for the Kingdom's protection, concluding: "May God preserve the Kingdom from the evils of those lying in wait."

The statement reinforces Damascus's position of diplomatic alignment with Saudi Arabia while explicitly maintaining that no military deployments or troop transfers are under consideration.
