Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said Wednesday that attacks targeted Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on October 6-7, killing three people and injuring 36.
According to the official statement, the assault on Abha Airport resulted in the deaths of two female residents — one Moroccan and one Algerian — and 28 injuries among Saudi citizens and residents of Bangladeshi and Filipino nationality.
Injuries ranged from minor to serious.
The attack on King Khalid International Airport in the capital killed one Sudanese resident and wounded eight others: five Saudi citizens, two Egyptian residents, and one Pakistani resident.
All injured were transferred to hospitals for treatment.

The authority also reported some material damage at the facilities
The statement did not mention who was responsible for the attack.
But the incidents occurred amid heightened fighting in Yemen, where Houthi forces and the Saudi-backed government coalition are engaged in renewed clashes, including near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Abha Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia has been a frequent target of cross-border attacks in previous years of the conflict.
