  • More than 200 organisations across over 60 countries are expected to take part.
  • Protests, vigils and other actions planned across six continents.
  • Organisers call for an end to the Gaza war and halt to military supplies to 'Israel'.

More than 200 organisations in more than 60 countries are preparing coordinated actions in support of Palestine on Oct. 10, in what organizers describe as a worldwide mobilization spanning six continents.

The campaign brings together civil society groups, trade unions, student organisations and Palestine solidarity networks, with participating groups planning demonstrations and other public actions during a wider mobilization from Oct. 9 to 11.

Events are expected to take different forms depending on the country, including street demonstrations, vigils, public meetings, cultural events and student activities.

Organizers have identified cities including London, Sydney, Cape Town, São Paulo, Rabat, Mexico City, Istanbul, Santiago, Reykjavik, Auckland, and Bangkok among locations where actions are planned.

The mobilization is focused on ending the war in Gaza, opposing settlement expansion and land seizures in the occupied West Bank, and pressing governments to take action against what organisers describe as violations of international law.

Participants are also being encouraged to campaign against military supplies to 'Israel' and push governments to impose restrictions on arms transfers and trade, according to organisers.

The initiative follows sustained international demonstrations and grassroots campaigns over the war in Gaza and ‘Israeli’ policies in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Organisers say the coordinated action is intended to bring separate national campaigns together and increase pressure on governments to change their policies toward 'Israel' and the Palestinians.
