Saudi lifts three-minute emergency warning in Jazan

The Saudi General Directorate of Civil Defense announced that a temporary emergency alert activated in the Jazan region has ended after remaining active for three minutes.
In an official statement published on X, authorities confirmed that the warning was broadcast through the National Early Warning Platform to alert residents of a potential threat before conditions returned to normal.
"An alert was launched from the National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies in the Jazan region to warn of a hazard, which lasted for three minutes before the danger passed," the Civil Defense statement read.
Accompanying the statement, the Civil Defense issued an official informational graphic warning the public against the spread of misinformation during security alerts.
The graphic explicitly advised residents to avoid sharing rumors, unverified media clips, or videos from unknown originators during potential emergency incidents.
"Beware of rumors, clips, and videos from unknown sources, and avoid circulating them," the official advisory stated, instructing citizens and residents to obtain security updates solely from authenticated government sources.
