Day 199 | New explosions rock Iran's Sirik after midnight

Unexplained explosions were reported in the coastal city of Sirik, located in southern Iran's Hormozgan province, shortly after midnight on Monday, according to Iranian state media.

The blasts, originating from an unconfirmed source, follow a deadly attack on an Iranian commercial cargo vessel near Qeshm Island over the weekend.

That strike resulted in one fatality and left four crew members wounded, with local Iranian officials directly accusing the "US enemy" of targeting the ship.

The strikes and explosions along Iran’s southern coast come during a sharp deterioration in regional security, directly affecting key maritime transit lanes across the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.

Concurrently, military operations intensified along Yemen’s western coastline. A spokesperson for Yemen's government armed forces confirmed that the Yemeni Air Force targeted Houthi vehicles and mobile units in the Dhubab and Mocha areas following recent rebel advances.

Saudi Arabia also launched a series of airstrikes targeting areas recently taken by Houthi forces along the Red Sea coast. The rapid escalation and renewed ground clashes have forced tens of thousands of Yemeni civilians to flee their homes, aggravating an already severe humanitarian crisis.

Amid the widening regional confrontation, diplomatic efforts hit a setback as a scheduled meeting in Oman on Monday between Iran and Gulf Arab states was postponed. The talks had been arranged to negotiate potential transit agreements and security protocols for the Strait of Hormuz.
