  • ‘Israel’ claims detaining Hamas security official Moein Mohammad Al-Arbeed in Gaza.
  • Airstrikes and ground clashes reported across Gaza City.
  • Hamas forces claim to have foiled the attack and arrested three informants.
  • Hamas warns the detention threatens the Gaza ceasefire.

Hebrew media reports alleged that a senior Hamas security leader was captured by 'Israeli' forces in Gaza City on Tuesday during a targeted operation accompanied by air raids.

'Israeli' Security Minister Israel Katz confirmed the capture of the high-profile figure, without confirming his identity.

Meanwhile Hebrew intelligence sources identified the captive as Moein Mohammad Al-Arbeed, a senior commander within Hamas's Internal Security Service.

"The detention of our senior security official in Gaza puts the entire ceasefire agreement at risk," a senior Hamas official told local media outlets following the raid.

Hamas says operation thwarted

The Gaza Ministry of Interior confirmed that its forces were actively tracking field developments following the strikes, which resulted in several civilian casualties.

Security sources affiliated with Hamas informed the Al-Hares media platform that their personnel engaged the raiding party during the incident.

"We thwarted a major hostile operation this morning that targeted a central leadership figure, though the occupation managed to abduct a security official present at the scene," security source stated, adding that their units inflicted casualties on the raiding force, seized weapons, and detained three local informants providing reconnaissance.

Ceasefire threatened

The operation marks one of the most severe escalations in Gaza since the implementation of the truce, raising immediate concerns over the stability of security arrangements.

Political analysts warn that targeted raids and high-level abductions within Gaza threaten to dismantle diplomatic framework agreements mediated by international stakeholders.

Hamas leadership stated that continued field operations, targeted strikes, and security breaches jeopardize ongoing negotiations and threaten a total breakdown of the ceasefire.

Clashes and airstrikes reported during raid

The alleged abduction unfolded alongside a wave of 'Israeli' airstrikes across Gaza City.

Reports from field sources indicate the operation involved coordinated support for a local 'Israeli'-backed militia targeting positions inside the enclave.
