One killed, six arrested in Iran security operation

Iranian law enforcement forces, alongside the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and intelligence agents, conducted a joint security operation against the Jaish al-Adl group in the southeastern border city of Saravan, resulting in one group memeber killed and six captured, an Iranian police spokesperson announced on Friday.

According to official statements, the clash erupted following targeted intelligence operations tracking members of the organization in Sistan and Baluchestan province.

"In a joint armed confrontation between law enforcement, the IRGC, and intelligence personnel against the terrorist group, one member was killed and six others were arrested," police spokesperson General Saeed Montazerolmahdi stated.

Seizure of explosives, satellite communications

Security forces recovered a significant arsenal of military hardware at the site of the confrontation.

The seized materials included dozens of Kalashnikov automatic rifles, hand grenades, RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenade launchers, approximately 20 kilograms of C-4 military-grade high explosives, 150 rounds of live ammunition, and multiple Starlink satellite internet devices.

Suspects linked to fatal attacks on police, IRGC 

Police spokespersons noted that the detained individuals were directly linked to previous fatal attacks against Iranian security forces in the region.

Specifically, the arrested operatives were identified as the perpetrators responsible for the martyrdom of police officers during an ambush in Saravan last April, as well as the killing of an IRGC staff member last month.

Authorities stated that investigations into the network's remaining operational cells are ongoing.
